Senior Protection Adviser
I’d much rather you challenge things and ask questions.

The one thing to know
I wish more people understood how important protection can be. When things are disclosed and structured correctly, it can provide real value when clients and their families need it most.
The biggest myth
In 2025 we supported 100 claims, and £1,133,478 was paid out to our clients. Our Claims Report shows who claimed, what for, and how we helped from the first call to the final payout.
Where to start
Not everyone realises that they need protection or understands what they should be covering.

I’ll never forget one client, a hardworking handyman who was constantly up on roofs or building sheds. Over the years, he’d accumulated a messy insurance structure full of policies he no longer needed. Even though we had to squeeze our updates into 20+ quick, 15-minute calls, he trusted me explicitly. Through persistence and care, I organized his cover, leaving him relieved and truly grateful for the help.

I didn’t know you could bundle family life cover and critical illness - Declan made it all clear and affordable.
The care and attention I received from Declan made me feel like a priority. There was no hard sell, just genuine guidance tailored to what I actually needed.
Declan gave me complete confidence that I’ve got the right life and CI cover in place - for me and my family.
I’ve worked at Waddle for just over three years. Before that, I studied Economics at Cardiff University.
I had a passion for building a career within the financial industry. Once I graduated, I discovered Waddle and looked into the company, its culture and what it stood for. I felt it was somewhere I could fit in, build a career and make a difference.
What makes Waddle different is the genuine care we put into every client. Lots of companies can focus heavily on numbers, whereas Waddle takes an individual approach to each client and always looks to do what is best for them.
Next, I want to start working towards further qualifications and improving my consistency across the gym, life and work. I’m a big believer in building healthy habits and good routines.

Donald Duck
My surname is Duckworth, it just felt fitting.
Declan, in his own three words.
He can come across as quite extroverted, but he’s actually quite introverted.
He’s most proud of going back to finish his A-levels after a year on another course. It showed him what he was capable of.

His go-to coffee order, three times a day.
His hidden talent.
Winston, an Australian Huntaway, is loud and gentle, and a bit of a scaredy cat, despite being a dog. Krystal, an Alsatian, is sweet and shy, and would probably insist they need a stair lift at home.
His go-to karaoke song, by Plain White T’s.
Working at Waddle!
Someone who is happy to ask questions and have difficult conversations. I’d much rather a customer challenge things and ask questions, because it gives me the opportunity to educate them and make sure they have a really good understanding of what they’re doing.
Genuinely ensuring that their family is protected in uncertainty.
Helping a client who hasn’t previously been in a good position and being able to make a difference is really rewarding. I enjoy educating clients so they have a good understanding of their options and our process, while ultimately achieving the right outcome for them through advice.
We don’t treat customers as a number. We take the time to understand them on a personal level and have genuine interactions, rather than simply treating them as another person on the phone.
